New! Ancient Jerusalem’s main street is now open to the public

Join a guided tour in Jerusalem of the Pilgrimage Road and walk on the massive original stone paving once walked by our ancestors more than 2,000 years ago. This was the central route along which pilgrims ascended to the Temple during the Second Temple period.

The main thoroughfare was uncovered through years of archaeological excavations by the City of David with the Israel Antiquities Authority, and is regarded as one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in the Land of Israel.

The tour begins with a panoramic view of Ancient Jerusalem, descends to the Pool of Siloam, the starting point of the pilgrims’ journey to the Temple, and then proceeds along the Pilgrimage Road itself, the vibrant main street of Ancient Jerusalem. Along the way, the city’s story unfolds through the landscape, the stones, and the historical stories which were revealed during excavations.

The tour concludes at the Davidson Center.
Advance reservation is recommended. Space is limited.

Please Note

  • Entry to the Pilgrimage Road with babies is permitted using a front baby carrier only.
  •  The Pilgrimage Road is fully illuminated. Flashlights are not needed.
