Activities for kids in Jerusalem

Looking for activities for kids in Jerusalem this summer? Enjoy a family experience in the heart of Jerusalem, with hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and a visit to the longest suspension bridge in Israel.

Throughout opening hours, the “Café BaGai” food truck will operate on site. Shaded seating areas are available around the farm.

For the best experience, we recommend arriving at the beginning of opening hours to make the most of the activities.

We recommend booking tickets in advance. Tickets are required for ages 3 and up.

Hands-On Workshops

Join a variety of hands-on workshops, including pita baking on a traditional saj, beeswax candle making, braiding, ancient writing, and nature-based crafts.

Demonstrations of Ancient Crafts

Watch live demonstrations of ancient crafts: grape treading in an ancient winepress and preparing tirosh, the process of preparing wool and weaving on a loom, alongside a pottery demonstration and the creation of clay vessels on a potter’s wheel.

There is no parking available in the area. Paid parking is available at nearby parking lots. From there you may walk to the Jerusalem Cinematheque, where signs will direct you to the site.

The activities take place at August 11-13 and August 18-20.

  • Between Saj and Za’atar – Pita Baking – Make your own handmade pita on a traditional saj, served with fresh za’atar dip.
  • Nature Crafts – Decorate smooth river stones. Paint birds and flowers using leaf prints. 
  • Braiding – Wreath Making – Create a wreath using stalks, flowers, and plants from the farm.
  •  A Letter from the Past – Ancient Script – Discover ancient writing and the clay seal impressions (bullae) found in the City of David from the First Temple period. Make your own personal clay bulla, inscribed with your name in ancient script.
  • Beeswax Candle-Making – After learning about the different parts of the beehive, bees, and the honey-making process, we will take part in a hands-on beeswax candle-making workshop.

Please note: The final workshop of the day begins at 6:00 PM.

Each activity lasts approximately 30 minutes.

  • Like Clay in the Potter’s Hands – Pottery Making – Watch the fascinating process of creating clay vessels on a traditional potter’s wheel.
  • Grape Treading – Watch the ancient winemaking process and the preparation of grape juice in the winepress, from treading the grapes to the fermentation process in the collecting vat.
  • From Wool to Fabric – The Craft of Weaving: Watch how natural wool is transformed into thread and fabric, from sheep shearing, cleaning and softening the fibers, to spinning with a spindle and weaving on a traditional loom.

Each demonstration lasts approximately 15 minutes.
