Step into history and walk on the Pilgrimage Road, the ancient route once traveled by our ancestors on their way to the Temple. Visitors walk on the original stone-paved road of Jerusalem from the Second Temple period. This bustling thoroughfare was uncovered by the City of David after years of archaeological excavation and is regarded as one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in the Land of Israel.
Along the way, you may pass by the Pool of Siloam, from which pilgrims began their ascent to the Temple, before continuing upward along the Pilgrimage Road itself. Along the way, the road brings Ancient Jerusalem to life, revealing its story through exposed stones, artifacts, and archaeological remains uncovered during excavation.
The route concludes at the Davidson Center, where entry is included with your ticket.
Please Note
- The ticket does not include entry to the Siloam Tunnel, the water system, or Warren’s Shaft.
- Visitors wishing to enter the Siloam Tunnel or Warren’s Shaft should contact Visitor Services upon arrival.
