Why travel to Rome? The archaeological wonder is coming to Jerusalem
A new and special exhibition in the City of David will allow a glimpse of ancient 2000 year old burial caves, inside which illustrations with Jewish symbols have been discovered. The exhibition was established thanks to a comprehensive study by the Israel Antiquities Authority that stretched across the sea – to the Italian capital.
Many finds have been discovered in the City of David excavations, and they provide non-verbal testimony to the destruction of Jerusalem, both in the Babylonian period and in the Roman period. More than a thousand years after the destruction of the Second Temple, Jerusalem’s walls were breached again on the same date.
