The City of David National Park is opening its gates and allowing a peek behind the scenes of the pilgrimage path dig project that is closed to the general public.

Professional guiding for engineers and professionals, underground at the heart of this fascinating project while it’s being set up.

Notes: The tour is for small groups of up to 20 participants; comfortable walking shoes required

Essential Information

By car:

It is important to note that it is difficult to find parking near the Western Wall and City of David. We recommend parking at nearby parking lots and walking.

  1. Karta and Mamilla parking lots (fee charged): to navigate using Waze click here. The walk from the Karta and Mamilla parking lots to the City of David is approximately 20 minutes. We recommend taking a cab.
  2. Mount Zion/ King David’s Tomb parking lot (fee charged): to navigate using Waze click here. The walk from the Mount Zion and King David’s Tomb parking lots to the City of David is approximately 9 minutes. Please note that these parking lots have very limited space.

Navigation on foot:

Those arriving from the Western Wall direction should turn left at the Dung Gate. After walking for 2 minutes you will arrive at the City of David.

Public transportation:

Route 1 – Central Station – Western Wall

Route 3 – Central Station – Western Wall

Route 38 – Jewish Quarter (circular route that goes via the Western Wall)

Route 2 – From IDF square / Yitzhak Kariv st. (circular route run by the Superbus company)

Taxis:

Taxis are allowed through the Jaffa Gate at any time.

  • There are storage lockers on site (fee charged). There is no place to store baby strollers.
  • The Visitor Center has a gift shop that sells a rich selection of literature, jewelry and unique souvenirs.
