Enjoy live demonstrations of ancient agricultural crafts, arts and crafts workshops, and a lively dance party featuring beloved Israeli songs. You are welcome to come dressed in white.

Don’t miss the chance to cross the longest suspension bridge in Israel!

What’s on the program?

  •  Ancient Crafts Demonstrations – Watch a variety of nature-based ancient craft demonstrations, including goat milking, beekeeping, blacksmithing, and more. Each demonstration lasts about 20 minutes.
  • Creative Workshops – creative workshops for the whole family, including wreath making, wheat weaving, and ancient musical instruments. Each activity lasts about 30 minutes.
  • Israeli Party – Our DJ will play Israeli songs, old and new, in a joyful, festive atmosphere. Come dance!

Essential Information

Shuttles

On Shavuot Eve, free shuttle service will operate between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM from the First Station parking lot to the Farm in the Valley site and back.

Arriving on Your Own

The Farm in the Valley is located in the Valley of Hinnom, near the Jerusalem Cinematheque.
Please note: There is no parking in the area. You may park at one of the nearby paid parking lots: Mount Zion Hotel parking lot, the First Station parking lot, or the Liberty Bell Park parking lot. From these lots, you can walk to the Jerusalem Cinematheque, where you’ll find signs to help guide you. The walk from the First Station or Mount Zion Hotel area to Farm in the Valley takes approximately 15 minutes.

Ancient Crafts Demonstrations

  • Milking Goats – “A Land Flowing with Milk and Honey” – Watch the goat milking process and see how traditional cheese is made from fresh milk.
  • Threshing Floor – “The Simple Song of Bread” –
  • Follow the entire grain preparation process – from plowing the field to grinding the wheat into flour using a stone mill.
  • Beekeeping – “Of Honey and Sting” – Learn about the structure of a beehive and how honey is produced. Taste fresh honey straight from the honeycomb.
  • Sheep Shearing – “And the Sheep Were Bleating in the Valley Like a Flute” – See how wool is processed—from shearing to spinning and weaving.
  • Blacksmithing – “Between Hammer and Anvil”
  • Witness the traditional method of forging a nail.

  • Wheat Braids – Create a festive decoration from wheat stalks (ages 10 and up).
  • Field Crown – Craft holiday crowns using stalks, flowers, and plants from the farm.
  • Making an Ancient Musical Instrument – Create an ancient musical instrument using natural materials and bells.

  • The site offers partial accessibility, including an accessible entrance to the Farm and an area that is suitable for people with disabilities.
  • The activities at the Farm take place in the open grounds of the National Park. Please take extra caution and follow the safety guidelines posted at the park entrance.
