A First in Israel’s History: State-Sponsored Memorial Ceremony for Jerusalem’s Poor
For the first time since Israel’s establishment, a state-sponsored memorial service was held today (Tuesday) for poor Jerusalemites from ages past who are interred in the Sambuski Cemetery on Mount Zion, and whose graves were desecrated over decades of neglect and vandalism.
2,600-YEAR-OLD SEAL WITH BIBILCAL NAME FOUND IN JERUSALEM
An important and exciting discovery: A Bulla (seal) bearing a Hebrew name from 2,600 years ago was uncovered from dirt excavated in 2013 beneath Robinsons Arch at the foundations of the Western Wall. The seal is inscribed with the name of an individual with the most prominent role in the king's court in the kingdom of Judea.

A gold earring decorated with the figure of a horned animal from the Hellenistic period has been discovered in the Givati Parking Lot in the City of David in the National Park surrounding the walls of Jerusalem, in an archaeological dig led by the Antiquities Authority and Tel Aviv University.

Due to its significant importance, the Shiloah Pool has been a focal point for archaeologists and researchers from around the world for the past 150 years, who have come with the goal of identifying and excavating the pool. Now, it is expected to be fully uncovered and opened to the general public for the first time.
