The City of David National Park <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The City of David National Park is a must-see for anyone who truly wants to understand Jerusalem. The City of David, the birthplace of Jerusalem, is a true historical wonder. On a journey into the depth of the earth, one can explore shafts and tunnels carved over 2,000 years ago, watch a breathtaking display about the Gihon Spring, and then walk through the ancient Siloam Tunnel.<\/p>\n

The National Park offers guided tours suitable for the whole family, but the underground walking experience can also be enjoyed through a self-guided tour with children. Entry to the tunnel is recommended from age 5 and up. First Station Complex<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The aquarium is Jerusalem’s unique alternative to the sea.<\/p>\n

Built by the Biblical Zoo, it is the only terrestrial aquarium in the Middle East. A visit here provides an engaging experience for children to explore the world of the sea and its creatures. The exhibits showcase marine habitats from across Israel: the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Sea of Galilee, and the Dead Sea. Children can marvel at special fish, sharks, seahorses, and sea turtles.<\/p>\n

In addition, you can visit the Butterfly House – a beautiful and enchanting exhibit where children can watch butterflies fluttering around, while you can follow them at your own pace. Science Museum<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The museum features rotating exhibits designed with the experience of children in mind: The “Teddy Bear Clinic,” where children can try their hand at treating ‘sick’ teddy bears, water activities, and other games that aim to make science fun for kids. The exhibits change regularly, so it’s worth checking which ones will be on display before your next visit. Other Sites Worth Exploring in the City<\/strong><\/h3>\n

No matter which attractions you choose, each is conveniently located near others that will enrich your visit, creating an unforgettable Jerusalem experience. After visiting the City of David National Park, take the kids on a tour of the Farm in the Valley – an ancient agricultural farm full of plants and field crops. In addition to being a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city, the farm offers hands-on experiences with ancient crafts, depending on the season.<\/p>\n

Near the Farm is also the longest suspended bridge in Israel<\/a>, connecting the slopes of the Hinnom Valley to Mount Zion, and further along, the Mamilla promenade and the Old City. On weekdays, entry to both attractions is free. During holidays and special days, it’s a good idea to check for any special paid activities at the Farm in the Valley.
\nAdjacent to the Israel Aquarium, you’ll also find the Biblical Zoo and the Malha Mall. If you decide to visit the Science Museum, you can continue to the Museum Boulevard and the National Quarter, where you can show the kids the Knesset, the National Library, and the Supreme Court.
