“Friday afternoon, an atmosphere of ‘almost Shabbat’, and here you can find the nature and serenity that only the Farm can offer. Slowly, people from diverse backgrounds and ages trickle in. They settle into the beautiful sitting areas, beneath the trees, and for two hours, create a community of togetherness with Kabbalat Shabbat songs and poems, Israeli songs, and nostalgia.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Farm in the Valley- A Magical Place <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The truth is, it’s hard not to be captivated by the unique charm of the Farm in the Valley. Nestled in the heart of Jerusalem, surrounded by modern buildings and cultural centers, lies a true wonder, brimming with nature and primordial simplicity. The Farm is dotted with trees, greenery, and field crops, and is interspersed with cozy seating areas. Here at the Farm, we work throughout the year to preserve ancient agricultural crafts in tune with the seasons, and if you look a little closer, you will even catch a glimpse of the Old City Walls before you.<\/p>\n

A Musical Kabbalat Shabbat in the Heart of Nature<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Fridays, this place comes alive with new energy. The wonderful band Jalle, which bridges the old and the new, fills the air with melodies that warm the heart. There’s also a food truck offering delicious treats, perfect for outdoor dining, and stunning scenery that will leave you breathless.<\/p>\n

Nearby you’ll find the First Station Complex, the longest suspension bridge<\/a> in the country linking the Hinnom Valley to Mount Zion, the Mamilla promenade, and the Old City. Over the years, different and varied ceremonies have developed within different communities, adding diverse elements to the familiar symbols of Shabbat evening. These elements often include conversations and sharing, singing and music, and an atmosphere of gathering and togetherness.
