1881<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hermann Guthe (1849-1936), a member of the German Association for the Study of Palestine, was sent to Jerusalem in 1881 following discoveries that had already been published in previous years. He uncovered sections of the Shiloh Church and the Pool of Siloam below it that are located in the south of the City of David.<\/p>\n

In addition, he uncovered sections of walls, probably from different periods, east of the hill and believed he had found the remains of the city’s fortifications. The findings of his excavation are not visible on the surface, so it is difficult to determine their relation to other findings known today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
