Near the Western Wall, on a small hill, is the fascinating archaeological site of the City of David. David, the second king of Israel, left Hebron and went up to Jerusalem about 3000 years ago, establishing the capital of his kingdom there, and it remains in our consciousness to the present day.<\/p>\n

The archaeological excavations at the site revealed remains and finds from different periods, even those prior to his reign in the city, but the king’s vision is apparent from every point on the site, and as the way of life during his time and that of his successors.<\/p>\n
