Combined Ticket- April 14-17, Chol Hamoed Passover

A special experience awaits you during Chol Hamoed of Passover – two attractions in one ticket!

To fully enjoy the activities at both locations, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance for the morning hours. Admission is required for ages 5 and up.

What’s included in the Combined Ticket?

  • Celebration at the Farm in the Valley – Engage in a variety of fun activities, watch fascinating demonstrations, and visit the longest suspension bridge in the country.
  • Red Kidron – Walking tours of the historical monuments, which are filled with beautiful red blooming flowers, children’s shows, an interactive escape game, and much more.

Essential Information

It’s recommended to start your day at the Farm in the Valley.

Directions to the Farm in the Valley

There is no parking in the area. One may park in one of the nearby parking lots (for a fee) and walk to the Jerusalem Cinematheque, where signs and directions will guide you to the site.

Walking from the First Station and the Mount Zion parking lots to the Farm takes about 15 minutes.

Directions to the Kidron Valley

Free shuttles will depart from the Farm and take you directly to the entrance of the Kidron.

Shuttle Schedule:
  •  From the Farm to the Kidron – between 10:30 PM and 3:45 PM
  •  The last shuttle returning to the Farm will leave at 6:00 PM

Independent Arrival

Access to the Kidron Valley by private vehicle or public transportation is possible up to the Information Center on the Mount of Olives. From there, you can descend the stairs located to the right of the Information Center to reach the Kidron Valley.

Some of the crafts allow for hands-on experiences, while others offer fascinating demonstrations.

Activities

  • Natural Weaving: Learn to weave home decorations using seasonal plants and flowers.
  • On Honey and the Sting: Create candles made from beeswax.
  • Mother Earth: Build mud bricks using traditional methods.
  • Find the Afikoman: A hands-on game with clues leading to different points  around the Farm.

 

Demonstrations

  • Land of Milk and Honey: Watch the process of goat milking and the preparation of traditional cheese.
  • Sounds from the Past: Learn about the materials used to create ancient musical instruments.
  • Clay in the Hands of the Creator – Pottery Craft: Watch the process of making pottery on a wheel.
  • Between Hammer and Anvil – Iron Blacksmithing Art: Observe the traditional technique of making nails.

 

Donkey and Camel Rides

  • One may ride donkeys and camels at the Farm for an additional fee.
  • Cost: 7 NIS per person. Duration: Approximately 2 minutes.
  • Rides are available for children from age 2. Children aged 2-5 must be accompanied by a paying adult. All ages are required to pay.
  • There may be changes based on the behavior and health of the animals.
  • Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the ticket counter on-site.

Please Note: The last activity at the Farm begins at 5:30 PM.

The activities at the Farm take place in a National Park, in an open area. Please exercise caution and follow the safety instructions provided at the park entrance.

  • Flower Tour: Discover the variety of flowers in the Kidron and hear the story of “Jerusalem’s Petra”. The tour lasts about an hour. The path is not accessible.
  • Children’s Show: Near the hospitality tent.
  • Ancient-Style Hospitality Tent: Enjoy Kosher for Passover coffee and tea served in a traditional tent.
  • Interactive Mission Game for the Whole Family: The game is tailored for all ages. A smartphone is required.  The game runs for about an hour.
  • Electric Vehicle Ride: The vehicle returns to the shuttle pick-up point for your return to the Farm in the Valley

A kosher for Passover food truck will be operating at the farm, offering options for those who eat kitniyot and those who avoid them.
